Welcome to Stoke Golding Airfield

Stoke Golding Airfield, set amongst beautiful open countryside on the Leicestershire Warwickshire borders, has been an active airfield since its formation in the early 1960's.

Since that time the airfield has been in constant use by a variety of home based and visiting aircraft of all types and is active most weekends during the flying season.

All types of flying machine are welcome and the approaches are clear, flat and open and the hedges are low at both thresholds. The airfield is unlicensed and PPR. If you would like to fly in check the details on the PILOT INFO page and give us a call or submit the PPR form.

The airfield is located approximately 1nm North East of the Nuneaton VRP and is shown on the 1/2 mil CAA charts. Full details are also in the AFE VFR Guide and Pooleys and we feature on Sky Demon and other flight planning software.

We hold one or two aviation fly-in events each year and all flying machines are welcomed to these open days. Food and refreshments are available and you can camp if you wish to stay over... see details on our EVENTS page.

The confirmed location of the historically significant Battle of Bosworth places the airfield squarely in the centre of the action and it is quite likely that you will be touching down on ground that Richard III trod on that fateful day. Some visitors claim to have heard those immortal words whispering down the runway...

'Horsepower... more horsepower, my Kingdom for more horsepower........
